<< Finding a gift, at your expense >>
Previously: Breaking in, or hanging out? Flafia suggested to buy a gift from a new boutique in town, to cheer up Sileya. Domiarr is going with her in the shop.
Narrator Inside the boutique, a dragoness is already doing some shopping.
Magma Magma (the buyer) Oh, this necklace is very pretty! What is that crystal?
Colmarr Colmarr (the seller) This one is very special: it brings light in your life by chasing the dark spirits and the black thoughts you may have. It’s called a “Solar Crystal”. As you can see, its color changes when you spin it between your fingers.
Magma Magma (heaten up by his speech) My…! I would love buying that precious pretty pendant! How much is it?
Colmarr Colmarr This is a very rare and powerful special stone. It’s worth the 400 Topazes it costs.
Magma Magma (suddenly cooled down by the price) … Let me think about that for a while then.
Colmarr Colmarr Sure, but don’t miss this occasion: first come, first served! I may not have another one like this until years or so.
Narrator While the dragoness is thinking, the two Dracquints enters.
Flafia Flafia (entering the boutique) I’m sure we’ll find a lot of things that Sileya will love!
Domiarr Domiarr (following her inside) If you say so…
Colmarr Colmarr (to Magma while she’s thinking how to get that expensive crystal) I will be right there if you need me, lady.
Colmarr Colmarr (to the two Dracquints) Hello, Sir and Miss, welcome to my boutique! I’m Colmarr. How may I help you?
Flafia Flafia Hello! Sure! We’re looking for a little gift for our friend, Sileya. She’s an Air dragoness, and she loves drawing, sculpting and Nature. We would like to cheer her up a bit. Do you have something that would fit?
Colmarr Colmarr Oh, yes, for sure, I have some Mageoise plates and rocks that your friend could sculpt, and a new canvas that acts like a projector: you can see your drawing spotlighted on any wall, even in the darkest cavern!
Flafia Flafia Oh, that’s a neat idea!
Colmarr Colmarr Please follow me: it’s in the back left part of the shop, with all other drawing crystals and stones.
Domiarr Domiarr (glancing at Magma’s thinking face) Go ahead, I’ll wait for you two here.
Flafia Flafia You don’t want to help me choosing?
Domiarr Domiarr You’ll do well, you know what Sileya loves. I’ll stay here.
Flafia Flafia Okay then, see you in eight!
Narrator Flafia follows the seller deeper in the boutique, getting out of Domiarr’s sight. Staring at the dragon’s neckpouch, Magma suddenly seems to have an idea. She sneaks behind Domiarr, take a flask from a shelf and leave it on a table. Then she moves in front of a shelf full of crystals.
Magma Magma (she stares at another crystal up the shelf) Oh, my! This one seems really pretty!
Magma Magma (she stretch to try to reach it) Gnnn…
Domiarr Domiarr (turning back to her, hearing she has troubles) May I help you, lady?
Magma Magma (stretching more) Oh, no, don’t worry, I’ll be fine.
Domiarr Domiarr Please, let me insist.
Magma Magma No worry I…
Magma Magma (she slips and starts falling back) …wooooaa!
Domiarr Domiarr (jumping across the shop, knocking over the table and the flask that was on it) I got you!
Magma Magma Ouch! Thank you, Sir!
Domiarr Domiarr (with a proud smile) You’re welcome.
Magma Magma Oh no! The flask! It’s now crashed on the floor!
Domiarr Domiarr ?
Magma Magma I left that flask on this table for a second, to grab that crystal, but you thrown it away when you jumped across the shop…
Domiarr Domiarr (putting the table upright again, confused) Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t see it. What was in there?
Magma Magma A precious medication that I had to give back to my mother. She’s sick and she needs it right away.
Domiarr Domiarr (understanding he made a big mistake by crashing it) …
Magma Magma I wanted to stop here before getting back home. I was expecting to get her a little gift, but… without her medication…
Domiarr Domiarr I’m sorry, it’s my fault.
Magma Magma Don’t be, you didn’t want this to happen.
Domiarr Domiarr Indeed, but I’m the one who broke it anyway, so, if I can do anything, please tell me. Maybe there’s somewhere we could find another flask?
Magma Magma Oh, yes, probably, but it costed me almost all my gems. I won’t have enough to get another one.
Domiarr Domiarr I will pay for it. How much was it?
Magma Magma 400 Topazes.
Domiarr Domiarr gulps
Magma Magma Don’t worry, I’ll find another way.
Domiarr Domiarr (taking the gems out of his pouch) I have my pouch with me, I can repay you.
Magma Magma (taking the gems) Oh thank you! Thank you very much! You’re very kind!
Colmarr Colmarr (coming back with Flafia) What’s going on here? I heard a heavy noise. Is everything ok?
Domiarr Domiarr I…
Magma Magma (cutting him off) I’m sorry, but I need to hurry. I’ll take the Solar Crystal.
Colmarr Colmarr Oh, perfect then, do you want a bag with it?
Magma Magma No, I’ll take it right away. 400 Topazes you said?
Colmarr Colmarr (putting the crystal on the counter) That’s right.
Magma Magma (grabbing the crystal and leaving the gems) There it is.
Colmarr Colmarr Thanks a lot, and have a nice day.
Magma Magma (leaving the shop and flying right away with her new pendant) Thanks, you too!
Domiarr Domiarr (finally getting his thoughts back) … Wait… What did you sell her?
Colmarr Colmarr A Solar Crystal, Sir. A very rare and precious stone. You want one? You’re lucky I managed to get two of them, because they are very rare and…
Domiarr Domiarr And it was precisely 400 Topazes?
Colmarr Colmarr That’s right.
Domiarr Domiarr (pointing to the broken flask) But what was in there then?
Colmarr Colmarr Oh, that’s the noise I heard. Don’t worry if you broke it, it’s nothing. Just a bit of pure water, worth about one Topaze only. It should have been on the potions shelf actually. I guess someone took it off for a reason.
Domiarr Domiarr So… This flask is from your shop? And it contains nothing but water?
Colmarr Colmarr (intrigued) Yes, why?
Domiarr Domiarr (leaving) I have someone to catch back and murder, see you later Flafia.
Flafia Flafia Hey, wait! You’re the one having the pouch remember?!
Domiarr Domiarr (throwing it on the floor) Take it, it’s empty now anyway!
Domiarr Domiarr (he flies after Magma) Come back here, you little…
